From a research project to an everyday companion
Google's story began with Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Stanford University. Their work grew into a search engine built to help people find their way through a fast-growing web. Over the years, Google's tools have become part of countless ordinary moments: looking up a fact, finding a place, watching a tutorial or getting an idea off the ground.
The company's birthday has a small twist. Google says it was incorporated on September 4, 1998, but has celebrated on September 27 for more than a decade. This year's birthday Doodle marks the 28th year with a nostalgic nod to its early logo.
A celebration of curiosity
At Histic, we believe useful technology begins with a question. Google has helped people ask more of them, learn something new and turn information into action. That spirit of exploration is worth celebrating.
